Is this corded or cordless?
Corded. The SpinWave 20393 plugs in while you mop, so there is no battery to charge or run flat, but you will be working around a cord and moving between outlets in larger homes.
Can I use this on carpet?
No. Bissell designs it for sealed hard floors, naming wood, tile and linoleum among them. It is not built or intended for carpet or unsealed flooring, so check your floor type before buying if you were hoping for a multi-surface cleaner.
How worried should I be about durability and reliability complaints?
Durability and reliability are both recurring weak points, so this is a real concern rather than a rare complaint. Effectiveness and cleaning performance are still clear positives, suggesting the mop works well when functioning correctly, so buying from a seller with an easy returns process is a sensible precaution.
Does it come with extra cleaning pads, or do I need to buy them separately right away?
Six washable pads are included, two scrubby and four soft-touch, along with three travel-size bottles of Bissell's formula, which Bissell says cover six complete cleaning sessions before you'd need to restock. Since the pads go through the washing machine rather than in the bin, you are not committing to an ongoing pad-replacement cost the way some other mop systems require.
Is it heavy or hard to maneuver under furniture?
No. Weight and maneuverability are both clear strengths. With its swivel head, it glides under furniture and along baseboards without bending down, and the spinning pads pull it along enough that it can be steered one-handed. The one spot it misses is tight corners.
Is it noisy?
Not especially. Bissell rates it at 70 decibels, and in practice it runs quietly enough to mop without disturbing others in the house.
