Temperature Control
The heated base holds your drink at the temperature you set in the app, from first sip to last.
The Ember Smart Mug 2 is a temperature-holding mug for slow sippers, best for slow sippers. Rated 4.4 out of 5 across 28 user ratings. The main drawback: battery lasts about an hour to a couple of hours off the coaster. We scored it 4.3 out of 5.
Keeping coffee at exactly the temperature you like, from first sip to last, is something no insulated mug can match, and it is why people who own an Ember tend to love it. The catch is everything around the heating: a battery that is short off the coaster and can fade, and an app you need for settings that can be frustrating to reconnect.
NoFussDeal rates the Ember Smart Mug 2 4.3 out of 5 at $89.99. Last updated September 26, 2026.

The Ember Mug 2 does something no insulated mug can: it keeps your coffee or tea at the temperature you chose until you finish it. On its coaster it does that all day, and the copper finish makes it a lovely gift. The weaknesses are all around the heating: short and fading battery life off the coaster, an app that is the only way to change settings and can need re-pairing, and durability complaints.
A genuinely useful luxury if you drink slowly at a desk. Treat it as a coaster-based mug rather than a travel mug, and accept the occasional app hassle.
