What comes in the 3-piece set?
The set is the high-torque power base, a tall cup and a standard cup, with a stainless steel cross blade. There is no large pitcher. The box photo can show a small cup that is not in this set, so go by the list of included parts rather than the picture.
Can it crush ice and frozen fruit for smoothies?
Up to a point. It can handle ice cubes and frozen blueberries in a daily protein shake, but it may run short of power for large ice cubes or hard nuts. It has a 200-watt base, so small cubes, plenty of liquid and short bursts give the best results. If you want to crush a lot of ice, a larger blender is the safer choice.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes. Magic Bullet describes the components as dishwasher safe and the cups as microwave safe, and running the cup through the dishwasher soon becomes a normal routine. The power base is not dishwasher safe; wipe it with a damp cloth.
How big a batch can it make?
It is sized for one serving at a time, one smoothie or one shake. For one person the size is right, but it can feel too small for anything more. If you blend for more than one person, expect to make drinks one after another.
Is it good for the office, the gym or travel?
It can be. The base is compact at 11.61 inches tall and weighs 2.5 pounds, so it makes a good second blender for the office, the gym or trips away. You will need a power outlet wherever you use it.
How long does it last?
Durability is its weakest point, and the most common complaint about it, so it is fair to treat it as the main risk. That said, a Magic Bullet can last for years with sensible use. Blending in short runs, always using liquid and keeping hard, dry ingredients like coffee beans out of it will give it the best chance of a long life.
