Lay out the blades, container, food holder, peeler and brush. Handle blade inserts by their plastic edges only.
Hand wash with warm soapy water, using the brush on the blades rather than a sponge or your fingers. Dry and set on a towel.
Pick a slicing blade (1.5mm, 2.5mm or 3.5mm) or a julienne blade (3x3mm or 3x6mm) and fit it into the frame.
Unfold the slicer, attach the container, and press it onto a clean, dry counter so the non-slip feet grip.
Wash and trim produce so it fits. Meat must be frozen and boneless, or the blades can be damaged.
Use the food holder to push food across the blade in steady strokes, and stop when the piece gets small rather than reaching in with your hand.
