Touchless Sensor
An infrared sensor dispenses soap when a hand or sponge passes under the spout, so you never touch the pump with dirty hands.
The Umbra OTTO Automatic Soap Dispenser is a stylish touchless pump with uneven reliability. Rated 3.4 out of 5 across 271 user ratings. The main drawback: sensor can be hit and miss. We scored it 3.4 out of 5.
The OTTO is one of the better-looking touchless pumps you can put beside a sink, and it earns its keep when your hands are covered in oil or raw meat. The trade-off is reliability: its sensor can be hit and miss, and some units stop working within about a month.
NoFussDeal rates the Umbra OTTO Automatic Soap Dispenser 3.4 out of 5. Last updated September 26, 2026.
An infrared sensor dispenses soap when a hand or sponge passes under the spout, so you never touch the pump with dirty hands.
A button sets how much soap each activation dispenses, and the non-drip spout is designed to minimise clogging and drips.
The removable sponge caddy keeps a scrubber beside the pump, and the elevated non-slip base keeps it above counter puddles.
A funnel-shaped opening makes refilling easier, and an LED warns when the four AAA batteries are running low.

It looks really elegant and modern in the kitchen and the best part is that if you are cooking and you have oil on your hands, you don't have to touch it to wash them. Great product.Dan Rod · September 1, 2023 · Verified

The sensor works 80% of the time. The other 20% is hit or miss. But if your patient it'll work eventually. There is a button to control how much soap comes out and I've had to adjust it base… Read it on AmazonU. Smth · August 15, 2023 · Verified
Install four AAA batteries (not included) and check that the power LED lights.
Pour soap through the funnel-shaped opening, up to the 250 ml capacity.
Stand it on the counter on its non-slip base, with the spout facing where you will reach, and fit the sponge caddy.
Use the output button to set how much soap each activation gives. Thin dish soap may need a different setting from thicker hand soap.
Only for some buyers: we score it 3.4 out of 5. The Umbra OTTO does what a kitchen soap pump should: it gives you soap without touching anything, lets you set how much comes out and keeps a sponge beside it in a tidy caddy.
Rated 3.4 out of 5 across 271 user ratings, with 48% giving it five stars and 27% one star.
Sensor can be hit and miss, sometimes needing a second try. Some units stop working after about a month.
Wipe the spout and sensor area regularly. Rinse the sponge caddy when you change the sponge.
Thicker soaps need a larger dose to come out cleanly. If the output looks thin or spits, adjust the setting before blaming the pump.

The Umbra OTTO does what a kitchen soap pump should: it gives you soap without touching anything, lets you set how much comes out and keeps a sponge beside it in a tidy caddy. The black cylinder looks smarter than most sink clutter. The drawback is consistency. The sensor does not always respond on the first pass, and some units stop working after about a month. The 5-year warranty softens that risk, but it does not remove it.
A good-looking and genuinely useful touchless pump when it works, which is most of the time. If you need a dispenser that responds every single time, a manual pump is the dependable choice.
